After updating to vista service pack 1 a reboot is required. After the reboot files areupdated but then an error is reported, 0xc190002 along with a filename leaving you with a computer than cannot be booted.
Nice.
Power off and back on. Select Start up repair and decline the system restore option. The start up repair will almost certainly fail informing that it cannot repair this problem. Choose advanced repair options and then the command prompt option. Choose your user account and enter the password if set.
On another computer google the filename to find its location on the filesystem.
Change to drive c: then change directory to the directory which contains the file.
At the command prompt enter the following and press return
del <enter the file name given here>
The file is now deleted. Type exit and press return. Restart the computer and you should get back into windows.
