As part of our ‘Exposed’ series of articles we take a look inside the popular BT Voyager 190 ADSL Modem.

The unpopulated header marked J201 is very likely to be a JTAG header. The 14 pin header is usually used on ARM devices. The pinout of a 14 pin JTAG header is:
| PIN | Name |
| 1 | VDDh +3V3 |
| 2 | VSS GND |
| 3 | nTRST |
| 4 | VSS GND |
| 5 | TDI |
| 6 | VSS GND |
| 7 | TMS |
| 8 | VSS GND |
| 9 | TCK |
| 10 | VSS GND |
| 11 | TDO |
| 12 | nRESET OPTIONAL |
| 13 | VDDh +3V3 |
| 14 | VSS GND |
So the chances are, using this type of header under the finned heatsink is likely to be an ARM processor.
