One of common factors for requiring password hacking or recovery tools is to extract an unknown password from a computer.
A typical scenario might be that you have a password in windows but it only shows asterisks in the password field and you cannot remember what you originally typed in.
So what tools are available to hack or recover a password?
We will take a look at some of the password tools we have come across adding more as we test and use more.
The first one is a FREE password hack recovery tool. It is called Asterisk Logger and can be found here
We tested version V1.04. The tool is downloaded as a single .zip file from the website. Extract the .zip file and three files are decompressed, the executable file, a help file and a readme file. The help file is great for those not familiar with the product and acts as a quick start guide.
Run the executable and any password fields currently visible are shown in the password tools window. As forms containing hidden password fields are opened then the password is logged in the application window. The passwords found by the application can be saved at any time in 3 different file formats.
